Employers

Employers related to the Housing Sector are categorised in the following way:

  1. Housing Organisations
  2. Local Government
  3. Central Government
  4. Construction
  5. NHS

All organisations play a huge part in delivering the Government’s drive towards creating communities where people want to work and live.

All launch partners for My Housing Career are Housing Organisations.

Notting Hill Housing – www.nottinghillhousing.org.uk

“At Notting Hill Housing we want to provide homes people love, not homes they have to put up with.

We want to help people follow their dreams and fulfil their hopes, not feel confined by an unlovely, un-loved home.

For many people, of course, any home would be lovely. Helping homeless people, first into temporary housing (through our Home Options advisory service), then into rented accommodation, is a fundamental part of our work.”

Shelter – www.shelter.org.uk

“Shelter understands the damage that bad housing causes. Every day we deal with the effects it has on people’s lives. This is why we’re working hard to ensure that everyone has a suitable, decent and affordable home.”

Homes for Islington – www.homesforislington.org.uk

“Homes for Islington is the arms length management organisation (ALMO) that manages Islington’s rented and leasehold stock. ALMOs are the fastest growing part of the social housing sector. Homes for Islington became operational on 5th April 2004 and is one of the largest ALMOs in the country.

Homes for Islington is owned by Islington Council, but operates as a separate organisation at arms length from the council. It provides a full range of housing management services including income collection, repairs and resident participation.”

Housing 21 – www.housing21.co.uk

We started life over 40 years ago and as a registered housing association are a not for profit organisation with charitable status.
