Housing services ‘improving’

A series of Audit Commission inspections have shown that services are improving among housing associations.

Wakefield and District Housing (WDH) and A1 Housing – a social housing body set up by Bassetlaw council – have both received favourable reports by the commission.

The commission found that A1 Housing had improved from fair to good and that there were promising prospects of continued improvement. Read more

Shelter study reveals Brits borrowing to meet mortgage costs

An increasing number of Britons are using their credit cards to pay for property costs, new figures show.

In a study released by Shelter, about one million of those who have either a mortgage or rent to pay claim that they have relied on a plastic card to help them meet such demands. Read more
