Housing associations join forces
The Wessex Housing Partnership and the Sovereign Housing Group have merged, it has been revealed.
In the first group-to-group amalgamation to have taken place since the Tenant Services Authority was created, the enlarged organisation will retain the Sovereign name.
The group is now one of the largest housing associations in the country, those with jobs in housing could be interested to hear, as it manages over 30,000 homes across the south-west and south of England.
Ann Santry, chief executive of Sovereign Housing Group, said: "This amalgamation will put the group in a strong position to deliver our goals of excellent homes and services."
The move also sees Wessex Housing’’s subsidiaries – Kingfisher Housing Association and HVHS Housing Group – unite to form Kingfisher HVHS Housing Association.
Such a body will become Sovereign’’s latest partner member alongside organisations such as Twynham and The Vale Housing Association.
In January, it was revealed that London-based housing charity Cara Irish Housing Association had been taken over by Central & Cecil.
