Tipton development put on affordable homes shortlist

A housing development in the West Midlands has been placed on the shortlist for an affordable homes award, it has been revealed.

The Tipton-based Neptune Park, constructed by Accord Housing Association, has been nominated for the Best Registered Social Landlord-Led Large Development prize at the forthcoming Affordable Home Ownership Awards ceremony.

Completed last March, the 135-home development consists of a variety of houses and flats available to either rent or buy.

Sara Woodall, housing services director for Accord, claimed that the development has helped to bring in a younger generation of people to the area "as well as providing care and support needs for the older generation".

"The Neptune development is a great example of how Accord’s innovative approach to housing and our commitment to communities is delivering new and better homes and care," she added.

Such news might be of interest to those seeking jobs in housing.

It was recently revealed that the Genesis Housing Group has completed the Winton Court affordable homes development in Islington, north London.
