Shelter calls for residents to take part in proposals for homes
Residents are being encouraged to ensure they are as well-informed as possible and to take part in the decisions regarding the proposals to build a new eco-town in Oxfordshire, it has been reported.
To this end, housing charity Shelter has produced a booklet which explains the shortage of residential accommodation in Weston Otmoor where there are around 7,000 households waiting for permanent abodes.
Karen Stalbow, the charity’s senior regional campaign officer, remarked: "We hope that by participating in the public consultation the people of Oxfordshire will be able to raise their concerns and shape the way the proposed eco-town might look."
Ms Stalbow added that the organisation supported the eco-town proposals, which could provide up to 5,000 homes in a county where there is a significant shortage of affordable living space.
Such news may be of interest to those looking for housing jobs.
It was recently reported that Shelter had extended its services in Essex, offering a drop-in service would now be available to anyone with queries or difficulties regarding their accommodation.
