Estuary receives Housing Corp funding
Estuary has announced it has received funding from the Housing Corporation for the building of new homes, it has been revealed.
As such, the housing association has become one of some 31 bodies across the country to be newly pre-qualified for grants from the National Affordable Housing Programme to construct properties.
Paul Durkin, chief executive of Estuary, said: "This is extremely good news for the association, as we are one of only four newly-selected housing associations across the country."
He added that the move means it will be able to apply directly to the corporation for financial backing to "provide much needed homes to local people across Essex".
Overall, the corporation’s housing fund stands at £8.4 million for 2008-11 which will finance the construction of at least 155,000 properties.
In other news, it was recently revealed that housing management charity Shelter had launched an expanded range of services for those living in the north-east of England.
