National Housing Federation updates building guide

The National Housing Federation (NHF) has published a new version of its guide to developing affordable homes.

Entitled Standards and Quality in Development - a Good Practice Guide, the resource has been updated to include the latest developments in house building.

In news that may interest those looking for housing jobs, the paper contains advice and best practice guidance on all aspects of delivering affordable homes, from creating a design brief to making optimal use of feedback on developments which have been finished.

David Orr, chief executive of the NHF, states that housing associations continue to create homes that have the highest possible quality and design but that the bodies are not complacent.

"We recognise that we have a role to play in continuing to raise benchmarks not simply amongst the affordable housing sector but across the whole housebuilding industry," he adds.

In recent days, Housing 21 suggested that the government’s recent agenda regarding accommodation for older people presents opportunities for housing associations.
