A new housing association in the north-west has been launched, it has been revealed.
Liverpool Mutual Homes (LMH) was officially unveiled at a ceremony at the city’s St George’s Hall in which the council’s remaining properties were transferred to the association.
Now LMH presides over 18,000 tenants living in Liverpool.
In addition, it was revealed that LMH has started a £300 million home improvement initiative with work - which includes new doors, windows and heating systems - already completed on more than 1,000 properties.
Steve Coffey, chief executive of the housing association, said: "We are delivering better products and more choice for tenants and we are also investing in a whole range of areas including community regeneration and employment opportunities."
In other news in the region, it was recently revealed that the Vicinity Housing Group had received a grant to construct 429 affordable homes throughout Liverpool, Halton, Wirral, Knowsley, Sefton and West Lancashire.
