Housing associations award contracts to Mears
A social housing contractor has secured three multimillion pound deals across the country, it has been revealed.
The Mears Group has won a £33 million contract with the Watford Community Housing Trust where, as part of the housing association’s Decent Homes partnership, it will replace kitchens and bathrooms for tenants.
Meanwhile, the firm is to be a partner on a framework arrangement for capital works and maintenance where it will help social landlords to bid for similar services.
Two £12 million repair deals have also been announced with Northumberland-based Castle Morpeth Housing and west London’s Catalyst Communities Housing Association.
Overall, the contracts are worth £57 million.
Bob Holt, chief executive for the Mears Group, said: “These new wins by our social housing division add additional important contracts to our order book - which is at record levels - and we believe that Mears is in a very strong position to benefit further from our current bid pipeline.”
Such news may be of interest to those with jobs in housing.
Meanwhile, in other housing jobs news, it was recently revealed that Mencap has rebranded its housing department which will now be known as the Personal Support and Housing Division.
