Audit Commission praises Poplar HARCA
Poplar Housing and Regeneration Community Association (HARCA) has been praised in a recent report by the Audit Commission, it has been revealed.
According to the commission, those working for the public sector body are providing a "good" service and have "promising" prospects for future improvement.
In addition, the housing association was commended for its work with network partners in the provision of services to vulnerable people, as well as making sure homes and estates are well-maintained and kept free of litter and graffiti.
This led the Audit Commission to give Poplar HARAC a rating of two stars out a possible three.
Adrian Brown, senior manager for the commission, said: "Poplar HARCA provides a locally-based service that is influenced by residents to meet their needs"
"The association benefits from being financially stable and is beginning to adopt a more structured approach to value for money," he added.
Earlier this month, People 1st, an arm’s length management organisation created by Slough borough council, was given two stars by the commission for its housing services.
