South Gloucestershire council ‘working well’ with partners
South Gloucestershire council is offering an improving service, a new Audit Commission report reveals.
According to the organisation, those working for the public sector within its strategic housing services were reported to be working well and as a result were awarded a “good” rating of two stars.
In addition, the council was stated as having good prospects for future improvement.
Bernadette Fry, assistant lead housing inspector for the Audit Commission in the south, said: “The service is adapting well to a more strategic housing role, following the sale of the council’s housing stock earlier this year”.
In addition, the local authority was reported to be working well with its network partners to help develop “innovative solutions”.
The commission also pointed out that the South Gloucestershire council has helped to reduce homelessness and deliver affordable property, in news that might interest people seeking housing jobs.
Earlier this year, the Audit Commission claimed that Richmondshire district council is giving residents an improving service in terms of being value for money.
